Summer Schedule 2010

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. ‣Graceful Expressions summer camps are staffed by professional teachers with decades of teaching experience who share with the children a passion for their art and a joy of teaching. Curriculum has been carefully developed to make summer camp a week full of special memories for each of our young dancers!

  2. ‣Campers are grouped according to age. Space in the camps are limited so that there are no more than 6 students per teacher/helper.

  3. ‣Camps are open to the community and are a great time to "try out" dance. School-year referral discounts do not apply to summer camps and classes. Requests to be grouped with friends or siblings will be accommodated as much as possible.

  4. ‣Accounts for summer camps will be charged within 48 hours of registration. Your account is not automatically charged when you register so that we can apply any applicable discounts. Any family registering for more than one camp or class receives a 10% discount off the total.

  5. ‣Snack and water bottles will be provided daily. To keep the environment safe for children with food allergies, please do not send snacks. Campers with food allergies, please note this in your registration and our studio director (who has first-hand food allergy experience) will contact you to make suitable snack arrangements.

  6. ‣Campers should bring dance shoes or plan to be barefoot. Campers may choose to wear dance clothes or play clothes. Skirts and dresses are not recommended, unless worn over a leotard.

Mondays:

  1. ‣4:15-4:45 - Ballet A/B intensive* tap/jazz workshop (Miss April)

  2. ‣4:45-5:45 - Ballet A/B intensive* (Miss April)

  3. ‣4:45-6:15 - Ballet C intensive* (Miss April)

  4. ‣6:15-6:45 - Ballet C modern & choreography workshop* (Miss Bethany)

  5. ‣6:45-7:45 - Worship Dance (Miss Bethany)

Wednesdays:

  1. ‣4:30-5:15 - entering K-1 ballet (Miss April)

  2. ‣5:15-6:15 - Love to Dance workshop, 6-10 year olds (Miss April)

Thursdays:

  1. ‣1:45-2:15 - 2s & 3s (Miss Judy)

  2. ‣2:15-3:00 - 4s (Miss Judy)

  3. ‣3:00-3:55 - Ballet entering 2nd-4th ballet (Miss Judy)

  4. ‣4:15-4:45 - Ballet A/B intensive creative & folk dance workshop* (Miss Judy)

  5. ‣4:45-5:45 - Ballet A/B intensive* (Miss Judy)

  6. ‣4:45-6:15 - Ballet C intensive* (Miss Judy)

  7. ‣6:15-7:00 - Ballet C variations* (Miss Judy)

Classes will run from June 14 to August 23. This is a 10-week session, but since many families will miss a week or two for vacations, you will only be charged for two months. Accounts will be charged monthly fees in July and August.

*Ballet A/B/C intensive classes are for those students who have completed at least one year of attending 2-3 classes per week and are aged 8 and up. All three age divisions will combine for barre work on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:45-5:45.

Monthly Class Rates:

  1. ‣1/2 hour, $50

  2. ‣45 minutes, $55

  3. ‣60 minutes, $60

  4. ‣Ballet intensives, $85

(Current students registering by June 1 can lock into this year's tuition rates.)

Fairytale Camps

  1. Hear, ye! Hear, ye! The fairest of maidens and noblest of knights are summoned to Fairytale camp for a Royal adventure! Each week of fairytale camp features different themes, stories, dances and crafts -- come, enjoy them all! Parents should plan to attend a coronation and knighting ceremony at 11:30 A.M. on the final morning of each camp.

Fairytale camps are Monday-Thursday, 9:30-12:00 for 3-9 year olds. Cost is $90. Choose from one or more of the following fairytale camp sessions:

  1. ‣June 28-July 1

  2. ‣July 12-15

  3. ‣August 2-5

Creativity Camp

  1. This wonderful camp will combine professional instruction in both dance and art with an emphasis on helping young artists develop their confidence and creativity. We will explore the fundamentals of drawing and the basics of dance choreography. We'll work to develop our "outside-the-box" thinking and brainstorming skills using creative exercises that were developed by Disney Imagineers. Our week will conclude with an art show and collaborative dance presentation on Friday.

Creativity camp is Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25 for 4-10 year olds. Cost is $125.

Broadway Camp

  1. Dance, act, sing -- be a triple threat! Join local performers and Graceful Expressions staff for a fun-filled week of behind-the-scenes and onstage magic. Camp will culminate with a Broadway-themed variety show that will be performed at a local nursing home. Camp cost includes a costume for you to keep!

Broadway camp is Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30 for 5-12 year olds. Cost is $150.
